Role Structure

Phase 1 (Months 1-6):

Unpaid advisory role contributing to business launch and first acquisition preparation

Phase 2 (Post-first acquisition):

Part-time CFO with competitive compensation

Phase 3 (Post 2nd-3rd acquisition):

Full-time Finance Director role

Key Responsibilities

Advisory Phase

  • Develop financial models for target acquisitions (£2M-£15M turnover range)

  • Structure deal financing combining equity, debt, and vendor financing

  • Create due diligence frameworks and acquisition scorecards

  • Establish financial reporting and consolidation processes

  • Build relationships with debt providers and family office investors

Post-Acquisition Operations

  • Lead financial integration of acquired companies

  • Implement group-wide ERP systems and reporting standards

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and debt covenant compliance

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting

  • Support commercial negotiations with NHS procurement frameworks

  • Drive margin improvement initiatives across portfolio companies

  • Prepare for eventual exit (IPO or strategic sale)

Essential Requirements

- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 8+ years post-qualification experience

- Demonstrated M&A experience in buy-and-build or roll-up strategies

- Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities

- Experience with acquisition financing and private equity partnerships

- Track record of post-acquisition integration and systems implementation

- Understanding of public sector procurement processes (NHS experience preferred)

Desirable Qualifications

- Experience with healthcare or regulated industry suppliers

- Knowledge of NHS frameworks, contracts, and compliance requirements

- Private equity or growth capital background

- ERP implementation experience (SAP, Dynamics)

- Previous CFO role in £50M+ revenue business

Compensation

Advisory Phase:

Equity participation commensurate with contribution

Part-time Role:

£80k-£100k pro rata + equity

Full-time Role:

£120k-£150k + performance bonus + significant equity upside
